JBL Bar 300MK2 & 700MK2 – Virtual Production

The Challenge

Virtual Production

The commercial film for JBL’s new soundbar series, Bar 300MK2 and Bar 700MK2, was produced using a virtual production workflow in collaboration with the Netherlands-based production company Lukkien.

For this project, all Unreal Engine environments and virtual sets were designed and developed by our team. The goal was to create highly realistic, cinematic digital environments where the product could be integrated seamlessly into a controlled visual narrative.

All Unreal scenes were optimized to run within the Disguise ecosystem. Each environment was tested and structured in Disguise Designer, then integrated into the show file to ensure full compatibility with the studio setup at Lukkien, including VX4+ and RX3 render nodes. Stability, performance optimization, and real-time playback behavior were key priorities throughout the process.

We were responsible for the complete design, development, and optimization of the virtual production environments in Unreal Engine. The result was a set of highly detailed, physically grounded digital scenes designed for real-time rendering and production use.

The final commercial was distributed globally by JBL, becoming part of the brand’s international campaign across multiple platforms.

Equipment

The project was built entirely within Unreal Engine, with all virtual production environments designed for seamless integration into the Disguise media server ecosystem.

Real-time rendering, show control, and playback were managed through Disguise Designer, ensuring a unified workflow across previsualization, testing, and on-set execution. All scenes were optimized for Disguise VX4+ and RX3 render nodes, enabling stable, high-performance playback in a professional virtual production pipeline.

The tight integration with the Disguise platform allowed efficient real-time scene management, low-latency performance, and reliable synchronization between Unreal Engine content and the final output stage.
